Severe Weather Policy for Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy

In the case of a tornado or other severe weather, the Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy is not to be considered a safe shelter. As a parent/guardian, it is your responsibility to determine whether your child should attend gymnastics on any day where severe weather could be a threat. We have cable television and will be monitoring the situation as it unfolds. With this in mind, we have the following procedures in regard to severe weather.

  1. If your child is at the gym and you feel they need to be picked up, because of severe weather, you are welcome to do so. It is your responsibility to stay informed and aware of the weather situation. You may pick your children up at any time.
  2. If it is a severe weather day, and you elect to come to gym, a parent/guardian must remain at the gym in order to monitor the situation and decide what to do with your child.
  3. If a weather emergency occurs, management will decide whether we leave or stay, if any children are remaining at the gym.  We will gather whomever is remaining and go into the pits. This is a 3 1/2 foot deep reinforced concrete, underground trench.

We have everyone’s utmost safety in mind and these are the procedures that we will perform under a imminent severe weather threat.
